Back a few months ago we featured a track by none other than ‘Aloe Blacc’

Needless to say, this track has been massive! Featuring a slew of remixes to date (some of which we’ve posted about here!)

Theres a new remix on the horizon, brought to us by Zinc hailing from east London.

In what many have began to describe as ‘cracked house’ and what I tend to label ‘good dubstep’ (yes ~ there is such a thing!) I give you the Zinc remix of Aloe Blacc’s ‘I Need A Dollar’… a great original, great remix!

Art Nouveau – Air France / Souk Ep

The organic architectural style of Art Nouveau is a thing of the past century which you will soon forget ever existed. Whereas the Art Nouveau (FR) of the present builds an equally organic universe around the Air France / Souk EP, it is rather the kind of organic vibe that you could experience from a klezmer band at a bar mitzvah or a mariachi band at Cinqo de Mayo, yet armored with a punchiness that in the latter case would crack the piñata wide open at the drop of the first beat.

Air France is remixed by the mythical reims duo Gucci Vump consisting of none other than Brodinski and Guillaume from The Shoes. Gucci Vump became a household name on the house scene after their first track “Sha Stihl” was released on Sound Pellegrino. On this remix they seem to be reminding us specifically of the South American Air France routes with an added electro feel in the carry on luggage.

Air France is also sequelled in collaboration with LOL Boys (US/CAN) as Air France II. This version has melodic references to the Nervous Records sound of the early 90′s but outlined with the sharpness and punchiness of 2011.

Souk is like a thousand balkan parties boiled in to one highly concentrated bouillon cube. Be sure to be aware of the forces you are messing with when you put this thing on Souk is remixed by Sunnybeach Happyslap Mardigras. In this cut up version of Souk it becomes readily apparent that these cats invested huge chunks of their allowances on 12″s produced by DJ Premier back in the 90′s. A sharp cut-up bouncy grove for the oldschool heads as well as the youngsters.
