Champaign’s own Tigorilla has just put out the Space Junga Ep. He included 4 original tracks and 12 remixes…for free. I’ve honestly never seen anything like this, he has remixes from a group of both established and rising producers from all over the country. His sound on this EP is unique & new the 4 tracks take elements we know and throw them in a blender with jungle vibes, tight production, & loads of bass. My favorite original is The Temple, and I honestly couldn’t choose my favorite remix out of the bunch, so why don’t you decide for yourself.

Here’s a new remix we did for our friend Munchi, we loved his attitude towards music when we met him at a festival, so we did our own version of his killer track Shottas featuring Mr Lexx. Now, it’s here for you, free download!

If you’ve enjoyed this download, please consider contributing to this fund that was set up for Munchi, who has suffered from a serious medical incident.

“Munchi had a seizure caused by an intracerebral hemorrhage, with no prior condition. He spent 9 hours in a coma and 11 days in the hospital recovering. He has no medical insurance in the US. His medication is expensive and he needs to get back to Rotterdam. Our goal is to pay for his ticket home, get our Hawaiian friends reimbursed for his meds and eventually pay for his hospital bills.”

Art Nouveau – Air France / Souk Ep

The organic architectural style of Art Nouveau is a thing of the past century which you will soon forget ever existed. Whereas the Art Nouveau (FR) of the present builds an equally organic universe around the Air France / Souk EP, it is rather the kind of organic vibe that you could experience from a klezmer band at a bar mitzvah or a mariachi band at Cinqo de Mayo, yet armored with a punchiness that in the latter case would crack the piñata wide open at the drop of the first beat.

Air France is remixed by the mythical reims duo Gucci Vump consisting of none other than Brodinski and Guillaume from The Shoes. Gucci Vump became a household name on the house scene after their first track “Sha Stihl” was released on Sound Pellegrino. On this remix they seem to be reminding us specifically of the South American Air France routes with an added electro feel in the carry on luggage.

Air France is also sequelled in collaboration with LOL Boys (US/CAN) as Air France II. This version has melodic references to the Nervous Records sound of the early 90′s but outlined with the sharpness and punchiness of 2011.

Souk is like a thousand balkan parties boiled in to one highly concentrated bouillon cube. Be sure to be aware of the forces you are messing with when you put this thing on Souk is remixed by Sunnybeach Happyslap Mardigras. In this cut up version of Souk it becomes readily apparent that these cats invested huge chunks of their allowances on 12″s produced by DJ Premier back in the 90′s. A sharp cut-up bouncy grove for the oldschool heads as well as the youngsters.

Matanza – Amerindio

Up this month Anabatic are bringing you an exciting new band out of Chile called Matanza. When we received the tracks we were so excited about the originality of the music they are making. Then we discovered they are a band, playing live instruments, we were blown away. They have been on the rise in Chile, taking their show to some of the biggest festivals in the country. Today, on Anabatic, the trio will release their first ever record.

The first track of the EP “Lluvia”, is a monster that grows around a simple horn line with all kinds of crazy tribal voices. It works like magic on the floor. Second track, “Barbaro”, works a simple groove and trumpet line that sticks with you, keeping even the toughest floors moving.

On the remixes are Anabatic favorites, Jet Project (Get Physical, Extended Play), who take “Lluvia” to the house-heavens with a smashing rework. And label chief Worthy joins in on the action, dropping a second remix of “Lluvia”, which delivers in his trademark, groovy-roller style.
