Mickey Karbal, one half of the now defunct Chicago/Urbana based dj duo The Interns has had his hand at producing for a while now.  Last year I was playing out his 1st remix of Duke Ellington quite bit. I recently stumbled across his Soundcloud and came up on the newer dubbed out remixes hes been making.

 This particular post however is about Whoa! the new original track he just uploaded. Stuck somewhere in between big dubstep drops, melodic breaks & pitch bending goodness lies this tune. During his formative years in the 90′s he discovered underground techno which eventually led him to residencies at Lounge and Revolver.

Every Saturday Boogs organised 8 hours of music at Lounge and then heads over to do recovery sets at Revolver for four hours.

Dj bOOg$ is currently one of the busiest djs in Melbourne!

This man’s energy is legendary

Notorious for his lack of self promotion, he still manages to constantly be in Australia’s top dj lists.

The legend has supported/played with/versed sooooooo many of the worlds top acts!

Including Claude VonStroke, Mowgli, Audiojack, Round Table Knights, Monkey Safari…just to name a few

A multi-headed album, Dring was born from multiple encounters and collaborations, disrupting the duet’s recording routine: if the “Nôze sound” is resolutely turned towards instrumental music, this time Pailhès Ezechiel and Nicolas Sfintescu gave their friends complete freedom, as title after title, recording session after recording session Nôze gradually became more of a “real” group with shifting and porous boundaries.

A spontaneous process, which progressively became this album’s backbone, also an opportunity to express their gratitude to the worlds of jazz and improvised music, and highlight the talent of their faithful collaborators: Thibaut Frisoni (guitar), Alexandre Authelain (sax and clarinet), Matthias Mahler (trombone) and Emiliano Turi (drums)…
